Denise Okafor

Employment lawyer for workers

I only represent employees. Not companies, not managers, not HR.

I grew up in Homewood, the daughter of a hospital orderly and a bus driver, and I learned early what a lost paycheck does to a family.

I opened this practice to take the cases workers bring: the firing that came right after a complaint, the pregnancy that ended a job, the overtime that never showed up on a stub. I take every call myself, and I tell people plainly when I don't think they have a case.

How I work

Your case, in your words

Every case starts with you telling the story your way, start to finish. Then we put it in order: a timeline, the documents, the people who saw it.

You'll have my cell number. When the other side makes an offer, you hear it the same day, with what I think of it.

Call or write. You'll hear back from me, not an intake team.
